Susan Adams Bentley is an author, teacher (piano and decorative painting), artist, and freelance writer living in Hacienda Heights, California. She lives with her husband and best friend, Bob, and Rosebud -- the cat that owns them.

Music has been a big part of Susan's life. She started piano lessons when she was 8 years old, . She loves music and was a featured piano soloist with the San Gabriel Symphony Orchestra, and was a solo performer in many recitals . She continues to compose, teach, and sing, and considers music to be a true blessing in her life.

Her newer artistic endeavor started in 1986 when she started decorative painting. Although she wasn't sure she could learn to paint since she couldn't draw well, she decided to take a class anyway. After being frustrated because she was unable to easily find resources to answer her decorative painting questions, she decided to write her own book. That book, the Acrylic and Fabric Painter's Reference Book, is now in its Fourth Edition and has been in print from 1989 to the present.

Susan loves to teach both piano and decorative painting. Her piano lessons are held in her home studio in Hacienda Heights, California. She also teaches private painting lessons in her home as well as occasionally teaching at local chapters of the Society of Decorative Painters.

Susan loves watching the joy of discovery on a student's face when they learn that they too can learn to play the piano or learn to paint.
